The combination of liquidity provided by our electronic option market makers, the advanced functionality of the Chicago Board of Trade’s electronic trading platform, and the complete transparency of the CBOT option markets are making it possible for customers to execute financial option trades during all trading hours. Customers are increasingly using the electronic trading platform to execute strategies and request quotes utilizing the request for quote functionality. Currently, as many as 10 option market makers may respond to a request for quote for an option or an option strategy during extended market hours (6 p.m.-7a.m. and 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Central time).
