Within the framework of the Egyptian Exchange’s strategy to spread financial literacy and promote investment culture, Mr. Mohamed Sabry, Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange delivered an awareness lecture on the importance of the Financial market and its role in supporting economic development. This was during his visit to the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), where he was welcomed by Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar, President of the Academy.
During the lecture, Sabry introduced the basics of the stock exchange, as well as its role as one of the key pillars of the national economy. He highlighted the importance of elevating the levels of investment awareness among youth, contributing to raising a generation capable of making wise financial decisions, and maximizing benefiting from the tools and mechanisms of the financial market in supporting sustainable economic growth.
During his speech, EGX’s Vice Chairman emphasized that spreading financial literacy represents a fundamental aspect within the efforts of the Egyptian Exchange to support financial inclusion, and increase participation of individuals in the financial market on right investment principles. He pointed out the importance of cooperation with the educational institutions to establish these concepts among university students.
On another context, the two parties discussed means of mutual cooperation between the Egyptian Exchange and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport including organizing awareness events, training programs and specialized workshops aiming at introducing mechanisms of the stock exchange to students, developing their skills in the fields of investment, risk management and financial planning.
EGX’s Vice Chairman expressed his pride being one of the Academy’s graduates, emphasizing that what he acquired from studying and scientific as well as practical experience in the academy had great impact on his professional career.
From his side, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar confirmed that hosting this seminar reflects that the Academy enhances its openness to national economic institutions. He added that cooperation with the Egyptian Exchange contributes to support the investment awareness of students, opening new practical horizons of understanding the nature of stock market, thereby supporting their orientation towards entrepreneurship and effective participation in the path of economic development.
