The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) organized a training program for economic media representatives to present Carbon Markets and Derivative Markets mechanism. The program tackled issues related to the importance of these markets, types of markets, trading cycle, clearing & settlement, risk management mechanisms and the legal framework. This program also elaborated on the importance of launching an organized carbon market for trading carbon certificates, the first of its kind, in Africa.
EGX Executive Chairman, Rami El-Dokany, stated that the derivatives market and carbon market projects are among EGX's priorities to boost efficiency and diversity of the Egyptian capital market. He stressed the importance of media representatives awareness of these markets as part of their important role as the main link between market parties.
