Ahmed El-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Egyptian Exchange Sustainability Foundation, the social arm of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), and Laila Salem, Member of the Board of Trustees of Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer, signed a cooperation protocol on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in the presence of Heba El-Serafi, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of EGX Sustainability Foundation.
El-Sheikh expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to establishing and supporting the pioneering Baheya Foundation, as well as to the dedicated individuals working tirelessly within it. Addressing them, he said: "Your efforts extend beyond being just a job or a profession; they represent a noble mission—a mission of hope and life. You not only treat the disease but also provide psychological and emotional support to patients and their families, instilling in them hope for recovery." He further added: "You sow hope, nurture resilience, and harvest prayers."
El-Sheikh further stated, "the signing of this protocol reflects our commitment to supporting leading charitable institutions that serve and uplift society. We always strive to back initiatives aimed at improving healthcare services." He continued, "EGX Sustainability Foundation has undertaken efforts that we hope will have a positive impact in supporting cancer warriors on multiple levels."
In her speech, Laila Salem, Member of the Board of Trustees of Baheya Foundation and granddaughter of Baheya, expressed her delight at the visit, emphasizing the esteemed position that EGX holds among all members of Baheya family. She also highlighted her pride in this fruitful collaboration, which will directly benefit Egyptian women. Furthermore, she extended her gratitude and appreciation to Ahmed El-Sheikh, EGX Chairman, for his commitment to the health and well-being of Egyptian women and for selecting Baheya Foundation due to its vital and impactful role in raising awareness, providing reassurance, and treating women across Egypt.

The foundation is also committed to raising awareness about the importance of early detection among women across Egypt through awareness seminars, which have reached more than 1,900 sessions across all governorates. Additionally, Baheya Foundation provides psychological and emotional support to breast cancer warriors through therapy sessions, artistic workshops teaching handicrafts, literacy classes, and various support programs for both patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
