EGX Executive Chairman Discusses With The Egyptian Investment Management Association (EIMA) Board Of Directors Mechanisms Of Developing Financial Tools

Mr. Omar Radwan, EGX CEO, received the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Investment Management Association (EIMA), with the attendance of Mr. Mohamed Sabry, EGX Vice Chairman. They discussed the latest developments of the Egyptian financial market and mechanisms of developing financial tools and products during the upcoming period, contributing to deepening the market, boosting liquidity levels, and enhancing efficiency of the market and its attractiveness for investors. 

During the meeting, both parties presented the main challenges confronting the financial markets and means of dealing with them during the upcoming stage. Omar Radwan emphasized that the Economic Ministerial Group, with the guidance of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, is working in collaboration with the Financial Regulatory Authority to make significant amendments on the legislative frameworks, supporting expansion of utilizing modern financial tools and enhancing efficiency of investment environment. 

The two parties agreed on the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the field of spreading financial and investment literacy among various age categories, through organizing specialized training programs for journalists, media professionals, and those working in the financial market. Besides comprehensive awareness campaigns on digital platforms and social media, especially those widely popular among youth.

The meeting witnessed the participation of Mr. Khaled Amer, Managing Director of Taswyaat, the company responsible for the settlement of financial derivatives transactions. He presented trading and settlement mechanisms of financial derivatives contracts within the preparations to launch trading on financial derivatives of the shares of Commercial International Bank and Talaat Moustafa Group Holding starting Sunday June 21, 2026. 

As for the indicators of investors base development, the latest records showed registration of about 300 thousand new investors at EGX since beginning of the current year. This is equivalent to the total number of new investors that registered during the whole year of 2025, which reflects growing interest of individuals in investing in the stock exchange and increased trust in the Egyptian market. 

The participants highlighted the importance of continuing to expand the investors base, especially youth. Also they emphasized the important of regularly announcing the number of new investors and market growth indicators, contributing to enhance investment awareness and encourage new segments to invest. 

The meeting also discussed means of activating and encouraging real estate investment funds (REITs), enhancing the role of the Egyptian Exchange in supporting the real estate sector. Besides discussing advantages of listing and offering on EGX, being one of the key tools of funding and growth for companies. 

The two parties stressed on the importance of attracting companies from promising sectors, primarily oil, technology and financial technology, supporting diversification of sectors in the market and enhancing future growth opportunities.
