In the context of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise with regional and international Exchanges, EGX Chairman, Dr. Islam Azzam, received: Ms. Nivvana Mortagy, Regional Industry Head of Operations for the Financial Institutions Group in Africa at the International Finance Corporation (IFC); Ms. Maria Ariza, CEO of the Mexican Stock Exchange BIVA; Mr. Temi Popoola, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) of Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group); Mr. Emomotimi Agama, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria. The meeting took place at the historic headquarter of The Egyptian Exchange Down Town, Cairo.
During the meeting, EGX Chairman welcomed the visiting delegation emphasizing that EGX is keen to expand mutual cooperation with various markets, contributing to exchange technical and regulatory expertise, as well as supporting efforts of capital markets’ development enhancing their efficiency and competitiveness.
The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation in the fields of developing Financial products, digital transformation, sustainability, in addition to exchanging expertise, and diversifying investors’ base, to enhance market depth and support integration regionally and internationally.
Dr. Islam Azzam highlighted that the Egyptian Exchange focuses on enhancing partnerships with sister stock exchanges, believing in the importance of integration among emerging markets, and its role in enhancing economic growth and expanding investment opportunities.
From their side, the guests appreciated the warm reception, praising the developments witnessed by the Egyptian capital market. They confirmed their aspiration to enhance mutual cooperation during the coming period to achieve mutual interests.
