Date 22/12/2021

Dr. Mohamed Farid, Executive Chairman of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), lectured Egyptian diplomats on the Egyptian Exchange’s role in supporting the economic and social development plans; adopted and implemented by the Egyptian government to improve the Egyptians life, in order to maximize the benefit of the ministry through our diplomatic missions abroad to promote the stock market to attract More foreign investment flows.  The meeting was attended by 35 diplomats.

This step comes in light of EGX efforts in raising financial awareness to attract and mobilize investments in the Egyptian Capital Market.

Dr. Farid reviewed the most important milestones in the government reform program which began in 2016.  He said that Egypt has a comprehensive economic reform story that includes fiscal policies to control the budget deficit and monetary policies that have contributed greatly in achieving stability in the currency exchange rate, as well as legislative ones that included the issuance of several laws to improve the business environment, and the structural policies that followed to develop and rehabilitate all economic sectors, in addition to strengthening social protection to support the lowest-income groups and those most affected by economic reform policies.

He sheds the light on EGX role in the Egyptian economy.  He explained that stock markets are a vital player in providing the necessary financing for growing businesses to finance their expansion, as well as providing a resilient and attractive trading platform for investors.
