Dr. Islam Azzam, Executive Chairman of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), participated in moderating a specialized panel focusing on financial derivatives instruments and their role in the development of the capital market. The panel was organized by Al Borsa newspaper, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Sabry, Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, and featured the participation of top executives from brokerage firms, alongside a broad group of key market participants.
The panel provided a simplified overview of the concept of financial derivatives and highlighted their importance in risk management and liquidity enhancement. EGX Chairman also presented EGX ongoing steps to prepare for the launch of these instruments, within an integrated regulatory and technical framework.
During the panel, Dr. Azzam underscored EGX’s commitment to promoting awareness of modern financial instruments and strengthening the readiness of market participants, thereby contributing to enhanced market efficiency and increased attractiveness to both local and foreign investment.
