EGX Chairman Delivers A Lecture At Future University

On Thursday, December 28, 2023, Mr. Ahmed El-Sheikh, Executive Chairman of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), visited Future University at the invitation of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science. He was received by Dr. Ebadah Sarhan, Chairman of Future University, and Dr. Salwa Thabet, College Dean. The two parties discussed cooperation to activate the concluded protocol between them.
 
El-Sheikh delivered a lecture in which he went through the emergence of EGX, nature of its work, its vital role in the economy, as well as its role in encouraging youth investments as they represent the largest age group in Egypt. He elaborated EGX’s efforts to raise their representation among investor groups to match their pro-rata in the Egyptian society.
 
He said: Introducing youth to the basic investment principles, stock market, concepts of financial and digital inclusion, saving and cumulative investment, is an important factor in preparing them to deal with real life requirements. He stressed the increasing importance of financial technology as it is the most used and preferred method among youth.
 
EGX Chairman stated: We are exerting great efforts to change the stereotypical image of the stock market, and we rely on new generations in this regard. He added: The main role of EGX is being a financing platform for listed companies and an investment platform for investors including youth.
