EGX Chairman & Head Of Commercial Representation Inaugurate A Virtual Workshop For Members Of The Commercial Representation Authority

Last Thursday, September 26, 2024, Ahmed El-Sheikh, Executive Chairman of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), and Yehia El-Watheq Billah, Minister Plenipotentiary - Head of the Commercial Representation Office, inaugurated the virtual workshop to activate the protocol signed between EGX and the Commercial Representation Office on July 2, 2024, the event included participation from heads of commercial offices abroad. The aim was leveling cooperation through the exchange of information and data, as well as to increase the promotional role of foreign commercial representation offices regarding the promotional activities of EGX.
 
El-Sheikh, said that this protocol aims to broaden the scope of cooperation through the exchange of information and data between EGX and the Commercial Representation Office, as well as to promote of investment in EGX through commercial offices abroad. He pointed out that through this cooperation, direct or virtual meetings will be organized with international investors to introduce them to the advantages of investing in Egypt, especially in EGX.
 
He also emphasized that technical support will be provided to members of the commercial corps, enabling them to acquire the necessary knowledge to deal with investors more effectively, and attract investments across various sectors of EGX. This initiative will help promote investment in EGX externally by establishing direct communication channels between commercial offices abroad and EGX officials to address any inquiries.
 
For his part, El-Watheq Billah, indicated that the meeting is part of activating the protocol signed between Egyptian Commercial Representation Office and EGX last July, indicating that this protocol represents a strategic step towards enhancing cooperation among various state institutions with the aim of promoting investment and attracting more investments to the Egyptian economy. He also stressed that cooperation with EGX reflects the state's direction towards integrating efforts to enhance economic and investment promotion for Egypt abroad, and create an attractive environment for international investors. This is in line with the role played by commercial offices abroad, which constitute a fundamental axis in this process and contribute to identifying promising investment opportunities offered by EGX through their ongoing engagement in business circles and their connections with members of the Egyptian communities abroad.
