EEX: Weekly Volume In Power Derivatives Exceeds 100 TWh

Last week, more than 100 TWh were traded on the EEX power derivatives market which is so far the highest weekly volume this year.

A total volume of 115.0 TWh was traded on the power derivatives market including new daily records which were achieved in two different products on 13th February: In Czech power futures, trading volumes totalled 1.6 TWh on that day (previous record: 1.0 TWh traded on 12th February 2019) while, in Phelix-DE futures, EEX reached a volume of 19.6 TWh (previous daily record: 17.5 TWh on 11th February).

EEX continues its positive development on the power derivatives market and strengthens its position as the leading energy exchange in Europe. This year, EEX will extend its offering on the power derivatives market with products for Slovenia, Serbia and Bulgaria and, as a result, will offer trading for 20 European power markets with one admission.
