EEX Trading Results For Emission Rights In November

On 5 December 2011, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange admitted to trading a bond issued by the State of Qatar, for a total In November, the total volume on the EEX Markets for CO2 Emission Allowances (EUA) amounted to 8,978,500 EUA compared with 18,127,525 EUA in November 2010.

On the Spot Market a total of 5,847,500 EUA was traded in November. The volume included 582,000 EUA traded on the secondary spot market (November 2010: 296,025 EUA) and 5,265,500 EUA from the primary market auctions. Thereof a volume of 3,265,500 EUA was auctioned-off in the German primary market auctions and a volume of 2,000,000 EUA was auctioned-off in the Dutch primary market auction. During the month, the Carbix (Carbon Index) ranged between EUR 7.12 per EUA and EUR 10.12 per EUA.

The volume traded on the secondary derivatives market amounted to 3,131,000 EUA (November 2010: 14,099,000 EUA). The 2011 MidDec future contract settled at EUR 8.35 per EUA on 30 November 2011, and the 2012 future contract at EUR 8.74 per EUA.

On the CO2 Derivatives Market for Certified Emission Reductions a volume of 74,000 CER was traded in November (November 2010: 20,000 CER). On 30 November 2011, the 2011 Mid Dec future contract settled at EUR 5.62 per CER and the 2012 future contract at EUR 5.53 per CER.
