The European Energy Exchange (EEX) will introduce physically-settled Natural Gas Daily Futures on the T7 futures trading system for the Dutch (TTF), German (THE), Austrian (CEGH VTP) and French (PEG) natural gas hubs. The new product suite will be available from 23 November 2026.
The new maturity will allow trading participants to manage short-term gas price exposures with daily granularity as well as offer further trading opportunities through the new Day-Month spread functionality.
Steffen Köhler, Chief Commercial Officer, commented: "The new contracts will be a valuable addition to our natural gas portfolio of financial and physical futures, supporting more precise trading strategies. In addition, the new spread functionality will be valuable during the season when gas storage is still being filled in preparation for winter consumption.”
EEX already offers a comprehensive range of physical gas futures with maturities from one month up to several years, alongside natural gas futures that are financially settled against the EGSI index. The introduction of these new short-term contracts further expands EEX's product offering and builds on recent innovations on the gas spot markets, including the launch of the EEX530 index and the Trade-at-Index functionality.
