EEX Sets The Stage For The Future: New EEX Supervisory Board

The general meeting of EEX AG has appointed the new Supervisory Board of European Energy Exchange AG, the operating company of EEX. The newly constituted Supervisory Board met in Frankfurt today for the first time since the capital increase. Otto E. Nägeli, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Eurex, the derivatives exchange, was reappointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Dr. Jürgen Kroneberg, member of the Executive Board, RWE Energie AG, is Deputy Chairman of the EEX Supervisory Board.

The Supervisory Board following the capital increase now has nine members.

Representatives of various groups in the European energy sector and the exchange are on the Supervisory Board. They are, in addition to the Chairman and Deputy Chairman, Dr. Heinz Baumberger, member of the Executive Board, Nordostschweizerische Kraftwerke, Switzerland; Frank Gerstenschläger, member of the Executive Board, Deutsche Börse Systems AG; Joseph Gold, Managing Director, Enron Europe Ltd.; Dr. Christoph Helle, head of the Energy-Trading Division, MVV Energie AG; Andreas P. Meyer, member of the Management Board, DB Energie AG; Markus Süssmann, Managing Director, EnBW Gesellschaft für Stromhandel mBH; and Heinz-Dieter Waffel, member of the Executive Board, PreussenElektra AG.
