Today, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) carried out the second auction on behalf of the Flanders region. In the auction, 2 million EUA have been sold at a price of 4.34 Euro/EUA. The total bidding amount was 8,593,000 EUA which means that participants demanded more than 4-fold the determined volume.14 companies took part in the auction.
The third NER auction for the Flemish region is scheduled to take place on next Tuesday, 12 March 2013, with the auction volume amounting to 2 million EUA.
Together, European Energy Exchange (EEX) and Eurex Exchange offer their participants a platform for trading in CO2 emission allowances. In the framework of the co-operation, which was launched in December 2007, Eurex participants can trade the CO2 products listed on EEX through their existing infrastructure.
