EEX Registered First Trades In French Power Options

Last week, the European Energy Exchange has registered the first trades in its new French power options.

On Thursday, two transactions were concluded in French options for annual delivery in 2016. The deals were registered by the broker Marex Spectron on behalf of clients and forwarded for clearing to European Commodity Clearing (ECC).

EEX’s offering for power options comprises “European type” options on monthly, quarterly and annual contracts (base load only). Since 2004, EEX has been offering power options for the market area Germany / Austria ("Phelix Options") and extended its line to the French, Italian and Spanish market areas on 27 August 2015.
