EEX Group reports its July monthly volumes with the following developments:
- In July, traded volumes on the EEX Group's Global Power markets increased by 29% year-on-year to 1,162.2 TWh. In Europe, both the Power Spot markets, operated by EPEX SPOT, and the Power Derivatives market have grown, by 24% YoY to 89.8 TWh, and 37% YoY to 857.4 TWh, respectively.
- Several of the EPEX SPOT markets reached new monthly record volumes, including the German, Austrian, Swiss, Dutch, Belgian, Danish and Nordic Intraday markets, as well as the Polish Day-Ahead market.
- On the European Power Derivatives markets, EEX recorded strong increase in traded volume across several markets, including the Irish Power Futures, which reached a new monthly record volume and increased by 320% YoY. Further significant increases were recorded in the Austrian (+102%), Greek (+85%) and French (+68%) Power Futures. The German Power Futures market has expanded by 29% YoY, which accounts for a growth of over 120 TWh.
- The EEX Nordic Power Futures continued their strong growth trend with volumes rising by 337% Year-on-Year. The EEX System Price Open Interest* has further increased (+176% YoY).
- The Japanese Power Futures market expanded further in July, with a 58% Year-on-Year growth, reaching 16.3 TWh.
- Trading on the EEX Group Natural Gas markets totalled 691.9 TWh (-10% YoY). Despite the overall trend, strong annual growth was recorded in several national markets, including the UK NBP Gas Futures (+537% YoY), while traded volume on the Italian PSV Gas Futures doubled (+100% YoY), The Baltic-Finnish Gas Futures market continued the growth trajectory as seen over the past few months (+452% YoY; over +10,000% MoM). The Spanish PVB Gas Spot market also continued on the upward path with another significant expansion (+1213% YoY). On the North American natural gas markets, operated by Nodal, natural gas traded volumes increased by 162% Year-on-Year to 26.1 TWh.
- The volume traded on the Group's Guarantees of Origin (GO) markets increased by 25% YoY to 11.3 TWh. This development was supported by EEX GO Futures, which rose by 42% Year-on-Year to 7.1 TWh traded.
