EEX: First Auction Of EU Aviation Allowances For 2014 Concluded Successfully

Today, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) success-fully concluded the first primary market auction of EU Aviation Allowances (EUAA) for the year 2014 on behalf of the European Commission and the participating Member States.

As planned,  a  volume  of  1,643,000 EUAA was auctioned on the Spot  Market  at
11:00 am. The auction price was established at EUR 5.70 per EUAA. The total amount of bids was 5.851.000 EUAA. Thus, participants demanded 3.6 times the auction vol- ume. Today, 11 participants took part in the auction.

In 2014, EEX will conduct three further auctions which will take place on 1 October and
29 October (each with a volume of 1,643,000 EUAA) as well as on 26 November
(1,641,500 EUAA).
