EEX Admits Dutch Emissions Trading Registry NEa For The Primary Market Auction

Date 20/10/2011

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has admitted the Dutch emissions trading registry NEa (Nederlandse Emissie Autoriteit) as a new trading participant on the Spot Market for Emission Allowances. NEa will take part in the auctions as a seller in the framework of the Dutch primary auction, which EEX will carry out for the years 2011 and 2012.

The Dutch primary market auctions for the current year will take place on two days: On 27 October 2011 and on 24 November 2011 the trading participants will have the possibilityto submit bids for the auction of 2 million EUA each on the EEX Spot Market from 9:00am to 11:00am (CET).

Acting as the auctioneer, NEa is exclusively authorised to enter sell orders into the trading system or to conclude sell transactions in the framework of the EUA auction.

All trading participants can use the tried and tested processes which are already familiar from the German primary market auction and do not have to make any adjustments regarding products or systems. The clearing house of EEX, European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC) guarantees the delivery of primary, “new” EU emission allowances after the pricing in the Dutch primary market auction.
