Duff & Phelps, A Kroll Business, Expands Its UK Prudential Advisory Services Team, Appointing Aaron Ghobarah As Director

Date 17/05/2021

Duff & Phelps, A Kroll Business, the world’s premier provider of governance, risk and transparency solutions, has today announced that Aaron Ghobarah has joined the firm as Director in the Prudential Advisory Services team in London. Ghobarah’s appointment expands Duff & Phelps’ prudential service offering ahead of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) implementation of new prudential standards over the coming year.

As part of the Prudential Advisory Service practice, Ghobarah will deliver specialist prudential project-based work, support the Compliance and Regulatory Consulting practice’s portfolio client base and bolster the firm’s regulatory due diligence service offering.

Ghobarah joins from the FCA where he held a number of roles including as Manager and as Acting Head of the Prudential Specialists Department. During his time at the FCA, Ghobarah oversaw and contributed to the development of the FCA’s framework for assessing adequate financial resources (Finalised Guidance 20/1) and provided input to the UK’s implementation of the new Investment Firm Prudential Regime.

Previously, Ghobarah was also responsible for the oversight of prudential reviews and the provision of technical advice across a range of financial services firms from small domestic to major international firms.

Mark Turner, Managing Director and Head of Duff & Phelps’ Prudential Advisory Services practice, commented:

“Aaron is a recognised leader in the field of prudential regulation with a wealth of experience. We’re excited to bring him onto the team as we continue to grow and strengthen our prudential service offering.

“As the FCA implements new prudential standards over the coming year, we are already seeing significant demand for support in this area. We’re pleased to be able to help our clients meet this challenge with a strong and growing team of specialists.”

Ghobarah commented:

“I’m thrilled to join such a great collection of experts in their respective fields. I’m looking forward to contributing to and supporting the wider practice as the prudential and adequate financial resources landscape changes over the coming years.”
