Dubai Financial Market (DFM) received a high level delegation of investors and fund managers in Malaysia. DFM’s senior management briefed the visiting delegates on the leading role of DFM and its momentous achievements over the last 10 years in addition to the investment opportunities offered by the exchange. The visit is part of the continued efforts to further promote and expand international investors’ participation in the market.
The visiting delegates expressed their interest in DFM’s Sharia’a complaint opportunities in particular. DFM is the first Sharia’a compliant exchange globally. This visit comes at the back of a regional tour for the Malaysian investors that will take them also to Doha and Istanbul. It is noteworthy that the Dubai Financial Market Dubai and NASDAQ Dubai are the only exchanges included in this regional tour.
Members of the delegation representing investors, fund managers and asset management companies based in Malaysia including PNB, HwangDBS Investment Bank, Phillip Capital Mgmt, Mayban Investment Mgmt, RHB Investment Mgmt, Avenue Invest.
The 12 senior delegates representing 10 companies attended a presentation on DFM operations, development initiatives and future plans in the presence of Mrs. Fahima Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President, Head of Business Development Division, DFM and Ali Al Hashimi, Executive Vice President, Borse Dubai Limited along with other DFM officials. The discussions touched upon various topics related to the Asian and Middle Eastern financial markets, the DFM and the key role of financial services and asset management companies. The visit also included a tour of DFM’s trading floor.
