The visit was a great opportunity to update our visitors from this leading financial centre on the sound economic fundamentals in Dubai and the role of the emirate as an emerging international centre and a gateway to the Middle East markets. We had a fruitful discussion that covered the leading role of DFM in developing the financial markets in this part of the world through various initiatives such as the first exchange in this region to go public with the listing of its own shares and adopting the Islamic Shariah rules, a pioneering step internationally. The delegation members were impressed with the level of development in Dubai, not only with the infrastructure but also the regulatory environment that has transformed the emirate into a main destination hub for foreign investments in the region.”

Commenting on this visit, Jeff Wilson, Director of UK Trade and Investment, British Embassy in Dubai said: “ I would like to thank DFM for hosting this important delegation from the city of London.
