In recognition of International Women’s Day 8 March 2020, Michael Bodson, President & CEO of Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), and Keisha Bell, Head of Diverse Talent Management and Advancement, said:
Michael Bodson, DTCC President & CEO
“At DTCC, we’re deeply committed to advancing equality by continuing to introduce policies and practices that promote a workplace where we can challenge the status quo, welcome unique perspectives and address unconscious bias. The theme for International Women’s Day this year is Each for Equal, indicating that individually, we are responsible for our own actions but collectively, we can work to create a gender—and actually, all diversity—equal world. Firms must drive the change they want to see and take steps to achieve it. This is not only the right thing to do, but it is also critical to the long-term success of our company and our industry.”
Keisha Bell, Head of Diverse Talent Management and Advancement
“While financial services scores well against other industries on workplace diversity in regard to race and ethnicity, there is more work to do around increasing the representation of women. The Oliver Wyman 2020 Women in Financial Services report found that the proportion of women on boards and executive committees has risen four percent since 2016, yet women still only make up 20 percent of executive committees, 23 percent of boards and 6 percent of CEO positions. At DTCC, we’re confronting this issue head-on by focusing on advancing women of all backgrounds in leadership positions. Change takes time, patience, and commitment, but I am confident that the actions we are taking will significantly increase representation of women within the organisation.”
