DTCC 10-Year Anniversary In Tampa Marks A Decade Of Job Growth And Community Involvement

Date 18/05/2015

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry, recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary in Tampa. Regional community, city and business leaders joined with DTCC to commemorate the milestone, applauding the company’s important contributions to Tampa Bay over the last decade. The firm has brought hundreds of jobs and contributed thousands of volunteer hours to the city.

“It’s clear we made the right decision 10 years ago to open a Tampa business center, which is now one of our largest offices in the world,” said Michael Bodson, DTCC’s President and CEO. “Tampa continues to be an important location for us as we look to grow and diversify our business.”

Following a $4.8 million expansion of its Florida campus in 2013, DTCC Tampa now employs over 800 people with compensation more than double the regional average salary.

“Our staff and our local community are two of the key foundational pillars to DTCC’s success,” said Marie Chinnici-Everitt, DTCC’s Chief Marketing Officer and Regional Administrative Manager for Tampa. “Tampa is much more than where we work – it has become our home, and we want to thank this community for welcoming us and partnering with us over the past decade.”

Both City of Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners Chair Sandra Murman spoke at the DTCC celebration and presented the company with commendations for its dedication to the local area. Mayor Buckhorn cited DTCC as an example of a company that has retained early career talent and increased Tampa’s economic vitality, while Commissioner Murman lauded DTCC for its contributions within the community, such as adopting Mort Elementary School.

DTCC relocated part of its operations to New Tampa in 2005 as a critical component of its business continuity strategy. This facility, originally intended solely for operations and technology back up, now employs about 20 percent of the company’s total global population with staff members representing all of DTCC’s business and support functions.

As DTCC has expanded, it has leveraged key staff located here to develop two new joint ventures – Clarient Global LLC, which streamlines the collection and management of legal entity/client data and documents, and Soltra Solutions LLC, which focuses on the sharing of critical cyber security threat information worldwide.

Additionally, hundreds of DTCC employees volunteer their time with Mort Elementary School, United Way Suncoast and several other local nonprofits, cumulatively contributing more than 1,000 community service hours each year.

In addition, as part of DTCC’s participation in the 100,000 Jobs initiative , DTCC has successfully tapped the veteran talent pool in Tampa, with a number of hires from MacDill Air Force Base, where more than 15,000 military and 2,700 civilian personnel are assigned.
