Dow Jones Indexes/STOXX Ltd: Five Years Ago, The Internet And Technology Sectors Reached Their All-Time High

In March 2000, the internet and the technology sectors reached their all-time high. The U.S. internet sector measured by the Dow Jones Internet Composite Index had gained 810% from January 1, 1998 to its peak on March 9, 2000 compared to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which gained 27% in the same time period. The Dow Jones U.S. Technology Index and the Dow Jones Technology Titans 30 Index gained 304% and 296% respectively from the beginning of 1998 to their highest point on March 27, 2000 and outperformed the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
