Distinguished Delegation From Cote d'Ivoire Visits NYBOT Trading Floor

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today that a group of government and business representatives from the Cote d'Ivoire visited the NYBOT trading floor in Long Island City, Queens, New York. Among the group was H.E. Dr. Pascal Kokora, Ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire, Mr. Sebastien Djedje, Minister of Agriculture, and Mr. Placide Zoungrana, Chairman of the Board of the Authority for the Regulation of Coffee and Cocoa.

The delegation met with senior NYBOT officials and then toured the trading floor, including the opportunity to view cocoa trading.

Cote d'Ivoire produces approximately 40% of the world's cocoa.

NYBOT accepts delivery of cocoa from the Cote d'Ivoire, which is classified as "Class A" and deliverable at a premium. Each cocoa contract is 10 metric tons (or 22,046 pounds) and has five delivery months of March, May, July, September, and December. Cocoa trades at NYBOT from 8:00 am until 11:50 am (NY Time) and has a ticker symbol of "CC."
