Direct Edge Market Maker Program Launching On January 17, 2012

Overview

Direct Edge is pleased to announce that we have received Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval to launch a Market Maker Program on EDGA Exchange and EDGX Exchange. The Direct Edge Market Maker Program will launch on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. We expect that this new Market Making program will deepen our liquidity and improve market quality for all investors.

Register to be a Direct Edge Market Maker

Follow the steps below to become a Market Maker on EDGA and/or EDGX:

  • Complete and submit the EDGA Exchange, Inc. and EDGX Exchange, Inc.Market Maker Registration Application to Direct Edge Member Services.
  • Complete and submit your most recent FOCUS report, and most recent annual audited financial statements to Direct Edge Member Services.
  • Update FINRA’s Web CRD® for registration of at least one Market Maker Authorized Trader (MMAT). Maintain a current list of MMATs who are permitted to enter orders on behalf of the Applicant and provide continuous updates to the MMAT list on FINRA’s Web CRD® system pursuant to Exchange Rule 11.21(a)(4).
