The Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) Academy, the region's leading financial training provider, will next month hold the first of its benchmark investment courses accredited by the UK Securities & Investment Institute (SII).
The Introduction to Investment Award course will be held in Dubai from October 1-3. It will be followed by an exam that results in a certificate from the SII, whose qualifications are recognised in financial centres around the world.
Nasser Alshaali, Chief Operating Officer of the DIFX, said: “The course is ideal for new entrants to the investment industry and for those seeking international certification and recognition. It provides a valuable overview of industry sectors from equities and bonds to mortgages and investment funds. SII accreditation underpins its quality and relevance.”
The Introduction to Investment Award is designed for people moving into the financial services industry from other fields, as well as those who have recently joined the industry from full-time education or who are still in education.
Hamed Ali, Acting Head of the DIFX Academy, said: “Participants include employees of banks, brokers, and other companies from Dubai and the region. The course is an excellent addition to the suite of courses offered by the Academy, which is playing a key role in the development of the region’s financial markets.
Participants in this course will be prepared to enter an SII Introduction to Investment Award examination which gives them the opportunity to receive an internationally recognised certificate.”
Academy courses range from Islamic finance to training for traders on the DIFX. The DIFX and SII are together planning the introduction of a range of international certification programs in the region.
