DIFC Authority Appoints Marwan Ahmad Lutfi As Deputy CEO And Head Of Business Development

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Authority today announced that it has appointed Marwan Ahmad Lutfi as its Deputy CEO and Head of Business Development for the DIFC Authority.

In this role, Lutfi will look after all business development activities and client-related matters for the DIFC Authority. His main responsibilities will be to facilitate growth whilst engaging with the Centre’s existing and future clients. He will also drive building the footprint of the DIFC towards a more regionally and globally sustainable long term commitment to its stakeholders.

HE Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Governor of DIFC said: “As the DIFC enters its next phase of growth, Marwan Lutfi’s appointment to this key business development role will be pivotal in driving forward our strategic initiatives and adding depth and breadth to the array of financial services activities conducted out of the Centre. He will be a much valued member of the DIFC Authority’s executive team and his extensive experience in the business and financial services industry will ensure the continued progression of the Centre and its business community.”

The experience that Marwan Lutfi brings complements DIFC Authority’s strategic priorities. As Deputy CEO and Head of Business Development, he will play a key role in further asserting the global nature of the centre, integrating it with the region and adding value to its existing and future partners."

Lutfi brings with him a wealth of experience to the financial services industry. He was previously a member of the Business Development team that established the DIFC and was integral in the initial stage of attracting financial services to the Centre. Marwan joins from the industry where he was last Principal at Abraaj Capital, in charge of investor coverage for the GCC region.

Marwan Lutfi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Boston University. He has also completed executive education courses at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and the Institute for Management Development (IMD).
