DFM Concludes Successful Summer Training Program 2017

In line with its objective to support the students and help developing their skills in the workplace, the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) concludes its Summer Training Program this year with participating students from several schools and universities across the United Arab Emirates. The students attended a series of workshops and seminars as well as hands-on training in different divisions within DFM and brokerage firms, where participants were introduced to the work mechanism in financial markets sector in the UAE. The program was conducted from 9th July to 3rd August 2017, with 6 hours of training per day from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.

A closing ceremony was held to give prizes and certificates to the participants in the presence of Mr. Hassan Alserkal, Executive Vice President and Head of Operations Division, and Mr. Ahmed Al Jaziri, Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Services Division.

The trainees were introduced during the program to the different roles and functions of DFM divisions and were given several tasks to handle and complete under the supervision of division heads. They also attended number of introductory lectures about DFM and specialized workshops including the “Promising Investor” and the “Promising Technician” workshops, which were launched in 2012 as part of the Summer Training Program at DFM to enhance the students’ knowledge about financial markets.

The participants showed great enthusiasm towards joining the program to gain knowledge and carry out the tasks assigned to them. They highlighted that this program helped them acquire many work skills, especially the ones related to the financial market and its mechanisms.
