Deutsche Börse:Eighteen New Indexchange ETFs Launched In XTF Segment On Xetra - Range Extended To Include Optimized ETFs On European Sector Indices - XTF Segment With The Largest Number Of International ETFs

Date 06/03/2006

Deutsche Börse continues to expand its XTF segment for exchange-traded index funds. Since Monday 18 March new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from the issuer INDEXCHANGE Investment AG have been tradable in XTF, these track the 18 supersectors of the Dow Jones STOXX 600 index. This increases the number of exchange-traded index funds (ETFs) listed in the XTF segment to 113.

The new ETFs track the corresponding indices using an equity sector swap instead of buying the individual shares in the index. This allows the fund’s exposure to foreign tax liabilities to be reduced and the index to be tracked more precisely. With the new ETFs, investors can choose between 18 different European sector indices based on equity sector swaps. The new ETFs cover all 18 supersectors of the Dow Jones STOXX 600 index – Automobiles & Parts, Banks, Basic Resources, Chemicals, Construction & Materials, Financial Services, Food & Beverage, Health Care, Industrial Goods & Services, Insurance, Media, Oil & Gas, Personal & Household Goods, Retail, Technology, Telecommunications, Travel & Leisure and Utilities.

At Deutsche Börse, investors can purchase exchange traded funds load-free. The annual management fee of the new ETFs is 0.3 percent. Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG will assume the role of Designated Sponsor.

Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment is Europe’s leading market platform for exchange-traded funds. With now 113 exchange-listed index funds, it offers the largest range of any European stock exchange. Average monthly trading volume on Xetra is approximately €3.8 billion, or more than 50 percent of total trading volume for exchange-traded index funds in Europe.
