Deutsche Börse Publishes Company Rankings For The Equity Indices - Decision On Changes To Equity Indices To Be Taken On May 18

On Wednesday Deutsche Börse published the current list of companies ranked by market capitalization and stock-exchange turnover for the equity indices DAX®, MDAX®, SDAX®, TecDAX® and NEMAX 50®. Decisions regarding possible changes in the composition of the indices will be made by the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse on the basis of these rankings on May 18; such changes will then take effect on June 21.

Only companies listed in the Prime Standard segment can be included in the blue-chip indices DAX, MDAX, SDAX, TecDAX or NEMAX 50. The decision to include a company in one of these indices is based on the criteria of stock-exchange turnover and market capitalization. The company ranking by capitalization is based on the relevant figure on the closing date April 30. The ranking data on stock-exchange turnover (exchange volume) are based on the order-book turnover from May 2nd, 2003 to April 30, 2004.
