Deutsche Börse expresses its appreciation for the effort of the working group led by Henri Lachmann having for the first time evaluated both proposals from Deutsche Börse and New York Stock Exchange for a combination with Euronext. Deutsche Börse welcomes the preference expressed in the Lachmann report for a pan-European stock exchange integration under European leadership and the conclusion that the proposed transatlantic acquisition is not in the best interest of the European market place. From the extensive consultations over the last months, Deutsche Börse believes that the concerns vis-a-vis a transatlantic acquisition and the preferences for a European solution articulated in the report summarize views widely held by customers and market participants beyond Paris Europlace.
Deutsche Börse will evaluate the implications of the report and will continue to work constructively with all parties interested towards a European solution.
