Deutsche Börse: New Index Fund On Dow Jones Global Titans 50 In XTF Segment - Further Growth In Portfolio Of Exchange-Traded Equity Funds

Date 17/08/2001

XTF, Deutsche Börse AG's segment for exchange-traded index funds and actively managed equity funds, continues to grow: The index fund on the Dow Jones Global Titans 50 index has been trading since Friday. It is the first index fund on a worldwide index in the XTF market segment of Deutsche Börse AG.

The index fund Dow Jones Global Titans 50 EX was issued by Indexchange Investment AG. It matches the composition of the underlying index, which tracks the performance of 27 U.S. stocks, 20 European equities and three Japanese stocks.

Investors can now trade 17 index funds and 11 actively managed equity funds through XTF, quickly and easily, like shares, in continuous trading. Index funds on German and European indexes are listed in the segment to date, including funds on four sectors of the European Dow Jones Stoxx indexes. XTF's market share on a European comparison during the first half of 2001 was over 60 percent. Over 99 percent of the trading in XTF funds takes place in Xetra.

There are no loads for the purchase of fund shares through the stock exchange; all the investor has to pay are the usual transaction costs for the purchase and sale of securities. All of the main trading parameters from equities trading are also available in XTF. These include continuous trading, auctions, all order types, a minimum lot of one fund share as well as Designated Sponsors who provide for liquidity.
