Deutsche Börse Lists 100th Company on Neuer Markt - Up to 30 more listings expected in June alone

On Monday, May 17, Deutsche Börse admitted artnet.com AG, the 100th firm for trading in its Neuer Markt segment. Neuer Markt has had 39 new listings since the beginning of the year, almost three times as many as in the same period of last year. The total number of new listings in 1998 was 44. There has been a steady flow of interest on the part of issuers. Deutsche Börse is expecting as many as 30 more companies to list on the Neuer Markt by the end of June. The Neuer Markt started with two candidates when it was launched in March 1997 and had grown to 61 companies by the end of 1998.
On Friday, May 14, the market capitalisation of the Neuer Markt was about EUR44 billion. In April 278 million shares, equivalent to EUR21 billion were traded in this segment.
