DAXplus Seasonal Strategy reflects for the first time the DAX® performance in the months from October through July. Analysis of historical data shows that August and September are often subject to weaker performance. Hence, index calculation is suspended and the index level for the final trading day in July is set until the first trading day in October.
"DAXplus Seasonal Strategy enhances Deutsche Börse’s new family of strategy indices and represents a further development of Deutsche Börse’s position as leading German index provider," explained Holger Wohlenberg, Managing Director for Market Data & Analytics at Deutsche Börse. "The new index focuses on traditional strong-performance months and outperformed DAX of more than 12 percent on average in the recent five years."
"ABN Amro’s new DAXplus Seasonal Strategy certificate offers investors an easy and transparent access to an investment strategy that has produced a significant outperformance over a long period," said Stefan Gresse, Head of Public Distribution Germany & Austria at ABN Amro.
The composition of DAXplus Seasonal Strategy index corresponds to that of DAX index. As with DAX, the weighting is set according to the market capitalization of the companies’ freely tradable shares. Weightings are adjusted on a quarterly basis. The weighting of a share in the index is restricted to a maximum of 15 percent.
The new strategy index is calculated by Market Data & Analytics at Deutsche Börse every 15 seconds both as a price and performance index, and disseminated via the CEF® real-time data feed.
