Deutsche Börse Launches New “Entry Standard” Segment - First New Admission At Launch Of The Entry Standard: Design Bau - Eleven Transfers From The Open Market - Launch Of New Entry Standard Index

Date 25/10/2005

Deutsche Börse launched the new “Entry Standard” segment, a segment of the Open Market with additional transparency requirements, on Tuesday. The first company, Design Bau, was admitted to the Entry Standard on the first day of the segment’s operation. With Axxon Wertpapierhandelsbank, EOP Biodiesel, FRIMAG, ifa Systems, KST Beteiligungs AG, Nanostart, Regenbogen, TECON Technologies and UNYLON as well as Amitelo and iQ Power from Switzerland, eleven companies have transferred from the Open Market to the Entry Standard. Parallel to the launch of the new segment, Deutsche Börse has started calculating the Entry Standard Index for the first time.

The Entry Standard expands Deutsche Börse’s primary market offering for SMEs. The new Open Market segment provides companies with flexible and cost efficient access to the capital market with low regulatory requirements.

The new segment is primarily designed for qualified investors who are able to assess opportunities and risks within a less regulated market segment.

Significant transparency requirements and rules of conduct for investor protection that must be upheld on organized markets such as the Prime Standard and General Standard do not apply to the Entry Standard.

Along with the launch of the new segment, Deutsche Börse calculated the new Entry Standard Index for the first time. The Entry Standard Index is a selection index that will track the performance of the 30 companies with the highest trading volumes in the Entry Standard. Currently the index comprises eleven companies. Design Bau will be included in the index on Wednesday. The index will gradually build up to 30 companies. At this point an additional All Share Index which lists all companies in the Entry Standard will be launched. The companies in the index are equally weighted, and the index weighting is independent of free float. The composition of the Entry Standard Index will be reviewed quarterly. The All Share Index will be adjusted immediately.
