Deutsche Börse Launches All Share Index For Entry Standard - 31st Listing In The Segment Provides Basis For New Index

Date 04/04/2006

Deutsche Börse will be calculating an All Share Index in addition to the selection index, Entry Standard, containing all companies in this segment of the Open Market starting Wednesday. As announced at the launch of the Entry Standard, the calculation of the Entry All Share Index was to begin as soon as over 30 companies were listed in this segment on Xetra. This was achieved on Monday, with the admission of Solar2. This will not initially affect the composition of the selection index, which is reviewed every quarter, with the next date in early June. The Entry All Share Index will be adjusted immediately when new companies are included.

Deutsche Börse launched the Entry Standard at the end of October 2005 as a segment with additional transparency requirements within the Open Market, thus expanding its primary market offering for small and medium-sized enterprises. The Entry Standard provides companies with flexible and cost-efficient access to the capital market with low regulatory requirements. The new segment is primarily designed for qualified investors who are able to assess opportunities and risks in a less regulated market segment. The listing of more than 30 companies in this new segment roughly five months after its launch shows the high degree of acceptance among issuers and investors, and confirms the success of the Entry Standard.

Deutsche Börse began with the Entry Standard Index for this segment. It covers the 30 companies in the Entry Standard with the highest trading volumes. Both indices, the new All Share Index and the Entry Standard Index are calculated and distributed by Deutsche Börse’s Market Data & Analytics division. The entire index portfolio contains over 1,800 indices, putting Deutsche Börse among the major index providers worldwide. The company also compiles, distributes and markets independent capital market information, such as price data, trading statistics, and back office information for banks and financial institutions.
