Deutsche Börse: 2.43 Billion Euros In Turnover In XTF Segment In August - New Record In Trading Volume For Index Funds - XTF Leading In Europe With Over 50 Percent Market Share - Index Funds On DAX And Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 Are Highest-Volume Products

Turnover in Deutsche Börse's XTF segment for exchange-traded index funds and actively managed funds rose to 2.43 billion euros in August, an increase of about 67 percent from the July figure of 1.46 billion euros. Average daily volume in the XTF segment rose by about 60 percent, from 66.23 million euros in July to 105.65 million euros in August. Index funds accounted for 94 percent of the total, actively managed funds, six percent.

A new record was set in the index funds, with volume of 2.36 billion euros traded. This represents an increase of about 71 percent compared with the previous month's figure (1.38 billion euros in July). The previous turnover record was set in January 2001 with 2.2 billion euros. Deutsche Börse is the European market leader in exchange-traded funds. The highest-volume product in August was the DAXEX index fund with some 1.52 billion euros. This corresponds to an increase of about 75 percent against the previous month's figure. The DAXEX ranked 19th among the most heavily traded securities on Xetra. Trading in the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50EX index fund grew by more than 110 percent with turnover of 564.38 million euros, ranking second among all of the products traded in the XTF segment.
