Deutsche Börse’s cash markets generated a turnover of €123.4 billion in January (previous year: €156.5 billion).
Of the €123.4 billion, €112.3 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €140.4 billion), bringing the average daily Xetra trading volume to €5.1 billion. Trading volume on Börse Frankfurt was €2.9 billion (previous year: €4.5 billion) and on Tradegate Exchange €8.2 billion (previous year: €11.6 billion).
By type of asset class, shares accounted for around €109.6 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €12.0 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.4 billion, in certificates €1.2 billion and in funds €0.2 billion.
The DAX stock with the highest turnover on Xetra in January was Siemens AG with €5.2 billion. Commerzbank AG led the MDAX equities with €1.1 billion, while Dialog Semiconductor Plc.topped the SDAX equity index with €297 million, and SAP SE headed TecDAX with €4.9 billion. In the ETF segment, the iShares Core DAX UCITS ETF generated the largest volume with €1.2 billion.
