The trading volumes on the cash markets of Deutsche Börse amounted to €1.29 trillion at the end of the third quarter, an increase of 20 percent compared to the same period last year. In 2017, turnover on the trading venues Xetra, Börse Frankfurt and Tradegate Exchange stood at €1.08 trillion at the end of September.
On a monthly basis, the total trading volumes amounted to €130.6 billion in September 2018 (previous year: €117.7 billion). Of this, €120.5 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €107.3 billion). The average daily turnover on Xetra therefore was €6.0 billion. Order book turnover on Börse Frankfurt totalled €2.7 billion (previous year: €3.4 billion) and on Tradegate Exchange €7.4 billion (previous year: €7.0 billion).
Split by asset classes, cash market turnover in equities reached about €117.8 billion. Turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to €11.4 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.3 billion, in certificates €1.0 billion and in funds €0.1 billion.
The DAX security with the highest turnover on Xetra in September was Bayer AG at €6.6 billion. The iShares Core DAX UCITS ETF led the ETF segment on Xetra with €1.9 billion.
