Deutsche Börse’s cash markets generated a turnover of €189.5 billion in January (previous year: €181.9 billion).
€151.1 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €137.9 billion), bringing the average daily Xetra trading volume to €7.2 billion (previous year: €6.9 billion). Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €4.6 billion (previous year: €6.7 billion) and on Tradegate Exchange €33.7 billion (previous year: €37.3 billion).
By type of asset class, equities accounted for €154.5 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €32.5 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.4 billion, in certificates €1.7 billion and in funds €0.3 billion.
The DAX stock with the highest turnover on Xetra in January was SAP SE with €6.3 billion. Deutsche Lufthansa AG led the MDAX with €1.5 billion, while Nordex SE led the SDAX index with €365.3 million. In the ETF segment, the iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF generated the largest volume with €1.4 billion.
