Deutsche Börse and Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) are working together to cooperate in several business areas. Both exchanges support the mutual understanding of developments in each other’s securities markets, carry out joint research projects or seminars on topics of mutual interest and assist each other in marketing activities in Germany and Turkey. It is also their intention to cooperate on the level of joint indices and product development in order to support a closer cooperation between both financial centers, Frankfurt and Istanbul.
“Deutsche Börse and ISE have already initiated a number of activities to facilitate the development of communication channels and to build up a continuous relationship between the parties for the respective benefit of the securities markets in Germany and in Turkey,” said Frank Gerstenschläger, member of the Deutsche Börse Executive Board and responsible for the Xetra business area. “It is the intention of both parties to assist each other in their efforts to improve and promote their service portfolio in both countries.”
“The Turkish economy and financial markets have developed rapidly in recent years and continue this positive trend. With its initiative to actively promote the Turkish capital markets among the international audience the ISE takes an important step towards fostering this growth,” said ISE CEO Hüseyin Erkan. “The participation of ISE as a main sponsor in the German Equity Forum 2011 in Frankfurt is just one example of the cooperation activities between the two exchange operators.”
