Deutsche Börse: 109 Billion Euros Turned Over On Xetra In March - 19.1 Million Transactions On Xetra

Order book turnover on Xetra and the Xetra Frankfurt specialist trading stood at €115.2 billion in March – a decrease by 23 percent year-on-year (March 2011: €150.0 billion). Of the €115.2 billion, €109.4 billion were attributable to Xetra – a decrease by 23 percent y-o-y (March 2011: €141.6 billion). €5.9 billion were attributable to the Xetra Frankfurt specialist trading, a 30 percent decrease y-o-y (March 2011: €8.4 billion). Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange* totalled approximately €3.5 billion in March.

 In equities, turnover reached €98.5 billion on Deutsche Börse’s cash markets (Xetra: €96.0 billion, Xetra Frankfurt specialist trading: €2.4 billion). Turnover in bonds was €2.0 billion, and in structured products on Scoach €2.1 billion. Order book turnover in mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) amounted to €12.6 billion.

A total of 19.1 million transactions were executed on Xetra in March, a decrease of 17 percent y-o-y (March 2011: 23.0 million).

The DAX security with the highest turnover in March was Deutsche Bank AG at €6.8 billion. Continental AG led the MDAX equities at €1.1 billion, while IVG Immobilien AG topped the SDAX equity index with €106.2 million, and Aixtron SE headed TecDAX with €425.4 million. The ETF with the highest turnover on Xetra was iShares DAX with €2.0 billion.
