“The new ETFs supplement Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment product offering and, with eight new listings in January, signal a successful start to the year for Europe’s leading marketplace for exchange-traded index funds”, said Rainer Riess, Managing Director and Head of Stock Market Business Development at Deutsche Börse. “This means that Deutsche Börse has picked up exactly where it left off in 2006, which was the most successful year for the XTF segment to date in terms of trading volume, product variety and assets under management.”

In 2006, turnover in the XTF segment was up 45 percent year-on-year to total EUR 66.7 billion, while assets under management rose by 77 percent to reach a record high of EUR 47.6 billion. A total of 178 index funds are currently listed in the XTF segment. With a view to these figures and an average trading volume of over five billion Euros per month Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment is Europe’s leading platform in this area.
