Deutsche Börse Updates Weightings In Equity Indices. Changes In The Indices Effective September 23

Effective September 23, new weights will apply for the companies in the equity indices of Deutsche Börse. Deutsche Börse released the tentative figures on Wednesday; the final figures, based on Friday's Xetra closing prices, will be published on Saturday at the Deutsche Börse Web site.

In this connection, the exchange also pointed to the previously announced changes in the composition of its DAX, MDAX, NEMAX 50 and SDAX indices. These changes will also be implemented as of September 23.

As already reported, Altana will move up into the DAX, replacing Degussa. Degussa will be newly included in the MDAX, as well as Aareal Bank, Klöckner Werke and Mannheimer Aktiengesellschaft, which is moving up from the SDAX. These companies take the place of Altana, Babcock Borsig, Cargolifter and Gold Zack.

The companies to be included in the SDAX are A.S. Creation, Dr. Scheller Cosmetics, Rinol and Stratec Biomedical. They take the place of Concord Effekten, Spütz, Gardena and Mannheimer Aktiengesellschaft (moving up into the MDAX). In the NEMAX 50, Viva Media and Micronas Seminconductor will replace Pandatel and Rhein Biotech.
