Deutsche Börse AG on Friday announced that it would significantly exceed its targeted Earnings before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) for the year ended 31 December 2002: the target of 320 million euros would be exceeded by approximately 10 percent giving an expected result of 350-355 million euros after goodwill and exceptional charges. The higher profit stems from the positive development in trading activity in the fourth quarter of 2002, which has remained strong in January 2003.
Deutsche Börse will publish its preliminary results on February 18.
