First Anniversary of September 11
Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Inc. (CME) will observe the first anniversary of 9/11 with modified trading hours and a ceremony including a U.S. Marine Corps clor guard, the singing of "God Bless America" by Chicago vocalist Wayne Messmer, and brief remarks and a special bell-ringing by exchange Chairman Terry Duffy.
Minutes of silence will also be observed on the Trading Floor at 7:46 a.m. and 9:29 a.m. (Central time)

Upper Trading Floor
A five-person Color Guard of the U.S Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines will perform the Color Guard ceremony overlooking the exchange's Eurodollar pit. Chicago vocalist Wayne Messmer, who is widely known for his patriotic renditions of the National Anthem at Chicago sporting events, will lead CME members and staff in singing "God Bless America". CME Chairman Terry Duffy will make brief remarks to the CME community and will ring the bell at 7:20 a.m. to begin trading in the exchange's interest rate and foreign exchange products. CME will observe one minute of silence on the trading floors at 7:46 a.m and 9:29 a.m, corresponding to the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center and the time the second tower collapsed. Trading hours will be modified according to the table below.
