Datatec Limited, (JSE/AIM: DTC, "Datatec" or “the Group”), the international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group celebrated the 20th anniversary of its listing on the JSE Limited (JSE) by sounding the kudu horn to mark the opening of the market at 09.00 SA Time today.
At the celebratory ceremony held at the JSE, Jens Montanana, founder and CE of Datatec, commented:
“1994 was a new dawn for South Africa, the year it held its first and very successful democratic general election. We shared the anticipation of great things to come for the country and this was the time we took the decision to pursue a listing on the JSE to enable us to successfully build and secure our very own future.
“In the ensuing years of the late 90’s, we leveraged our public company status and successfully pursued an international expansion strategy, resulting in a period of rapid growth. The dot com crash at the turn of the century brought us many valuable lessons and we emerged as a streamlined and more focused international business better equipped to adapt to market cycles. The Group now has a strong market position with diversified industry, geographic and technology exposure which supports our strategy of delivering long-term, sustainable, above-average returns to our shareholders.
