Trading volume at the DCE in June reached a total of 38,209,662 contracts, which was a decrease of 54.75% compared to the same month last year and a decrease of 24.45% compared to last month. Trading turnover in June reached CNY 1.6955 trillion, which was a decrease of 55.59% compared to the same month last year and a decrease of 24.13% compared to last month. The DCE's trading volume and turnover accounted for 16.31% and 6.64% of the national total respectively. Total trading volume for the first half of the year reached 289.9 million contracts and total trading turnover amounted to CNY 14.0931 trillion. Trading volume for the first half of the year was down 17.25% compared to the same period last year, while turnover was down 8.41%. Open interest at the end of the month totaled 2,778,352 contracts, a decrease of 10.5% compared to May.
The latest statistics from the China Futures Industry Association show that total nationwide trading volume for the first half of this year amounted to 1.369 billion contracts and trading turnover reached CNY 117.87 trillion, which were increases of 62.97% and 139.11% respectively over the same period last year. Total nationwide trading volume for June reached 234,316,694 contracts worth CNY 25.530 trillion. Nationwide futures trading volume and turnover in June increased by 43.22% and 131.41% respectively over the same month last year, while volume and turnover decreased by 14.05% and 7.04% respectively compared to May.
